At CBC, we believe in the power of prayer! It is not a “last resort” to us, but the first line of defense when anyone in our community has a need. We encourage all our members and attendees to lean on Jesus Christ by taking their needs to him through prayer. We also are available and honored to stand in the gap for anyone who would like our prayer team to take their requests to the Lord. If you would like someone to pray for you, click here.

Our pastors are here to help you! If you have experienced a crisis of any kind, including a death in your family, and would like to speak with a CBC pastor, please do not hesitate to call. During normal business hours call 210-496-5096 and let us know you need to talk to a pastor. After business hours you can reach a pastor through our after-hours answering service. Call 210-496-5096 and follow the prompts. Your message will be relayed to a CBC pastor who will follow up with you.

Please, if your emergency is life-threatening, call 911 for immediate assistance.

God created us for relationship with Him. But from the time Adam and Eve committed the first sin, humans have been separated from God. Because we all commit sin – the selfish things we do and choices we make that fail to meet God’s standard for holiness – we remain separated from Him. The good news is that He still loves and pursues us and wants a relationship with us! Yes! God loves YOU and wants you to live in peace with Him eternally! And because He loves us so much, He provided a way to bridge the gap between Him and us. He sent Jesus, His only Son, to take the punishment for all of our sin for all time. He died a terrible death on a cross to pay that penalty; then He came back to life, defeating death and offering us eternal life! What amazing love God has for us to offer this gift of salvation and relationship with Him!

To become a Christian and begin your relationship with God and live eternally with Him, you need to accept His gift of salvation by:

  • Admitting to Him that you have sinned and asking Him for forgiveness
  • Believing that Jesus Christ is God’s only Son who died for you on the cross and rose from the dead
  • Telling others that Jesus is your Savior and your Lord – that He not only saved you from your sin, but that, from now on, you will live out His plan for your life through the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit

To begin this new life, you may want to pray something like this:
“Lord Jesus, today I trust you. I accept your forgiveness for all of my sins and the gift of salvation. Fill me with Your Spirit; teach me from Your word; and help me to live for You. Thank you for my salvation and my eternal life. Amen.”

If you have made this decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, please let us know! You can call us at 210-496-5096 and let us know or fill out this simple form. We want to encourage you in your new life and help you grow in Christ!

Are you interested in learning more about CBC? Have you been visiting for a while and want to be a more active part of the church? Join us at 6pm for dinner. Class starts at 6:30 pm and will follow up with an opportunity to meet with our ministries and learn more about them!

Check it out here.

Anyone who has made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord is invited to be baptized. In fact, as a believer, you need to be baptized as an act of obedience to Christ. Baptism does not give salvation, it is your way to publicly tell others about your salvation, because it identifies you with Jesus.

CBC holds baptisms during our worship services once a month.  Outdoor baptism services are held annually in July. Register here for the next baptism.

For children between the ages of 6 and 11 who have made the decision for Jesus to be their Savior, CBC has a special Children’s Baptism Class that explains baptism on a child’s level. Children must attend the class before they are baptized.  For more information and to register for the class, click here.

Our baby dedication, for ages birth- 3 years old, provides parents an opportunity to dedicate their children to the Lord. This Service involves a parent commitment. It is viewed as a commitment between the parents and the church to raise a child in a godly way until the child is old enough to make his/her own decision in accepting Christ as their personal savior. For more information and to register, click here.

If you have additional questions about baptism, you may email guestrelations@communitybible.com.

Congratulations on your engagement! You are entering a very exciting and busy time in your life as you plan your wedding! Even more important than your wedding, though, is your marriage! God holds marriage in high regard, and it is an important aspect of the Christian faith. CBC is here for you to both celebrate your wedding with you and to help you build your marriage on a firm foundation. That foundation includes premarital training. In this video, CBC Pastor Emeritus Robert Emmitt tells us how important premarital programs are to the success of a marriage.

There are three steps you need to take to schedule your wedding with CBC.

Step 1: Contact us at weddings@communitybible.com or 210-253-5971 and let us know about your engagement so that we may answer any questions you might have.

Step 2: To have a pastor perform your ceremony, please contact a pastor of your choice at least 2 – 3 months in advance of your wedding date in order to accommodate the pastor’s schedule. Click here for a list of pastors that can officiate weddings. The officiant fee for weddings is $300 (payable by cash or check made out to the officiant).

Step 3: Because we want to see your marriage succeed, we require you to attend a minimum of eight hours of premarital training before your wedding date. We offer a variety of classes and events throughout the year. Click here for class offerings. Contact us for a list of ways to meet these hours at weddings@communitybible.com.

We pray God gives you a wonderful wedding day AND a long and blessed marriage!
