Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is Angel Food Ministries?
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia. CBC began their Angel Food Ministry in 2006.
How does it work?
Angel Food's groceries are sold in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items. Comparison shopping has been done across the country in various communities using a wide range of retail grocery stores and has resulted in the same food items costing from between $60 and $80.
How long will it feed a family?
Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month.
What is the quality of the food?
The food is all the same high quality one would purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.
What qualifications do I have to meet?
There are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere.
Are there any limits to how much I can buy?
There is no limit to the number of units or specials an individual can purchase as long as you purchase one menu.
Methods of payment?
We accept cash, check (made out to CBC), Credit/Debit Cards, or the Lone Star Card.

- You can volunteer by taking orders on Saturday nights from 4:30pm to 6:30pm or Sunday mornings from 9:00am to 12:30pm during church services.
- Our distribution day is one Saturday morning a month from 7am to 11am.
Can my kids help volunteer?
Kids ages 10 and up are more than welcome to come and help.
When do I pick up my food?

Is this for church members only?
No, everyone is welcome to visit and order. Help us spread the word about Angel Food to your co-workers, neighbors, and friends.
Do I have to order every month?
No. However, we encourage you to look at the menu posted on the website before you pick up your food on distribution day and decide if you want to order. We start taking orders for the next month the day of distribution.
What do I need to bring for distribution day?
Please bring a large box or small laundry basket to carry your food home. Some people bring a cooler for all the cold foods. If you order more than one menu, you might want to bring extra boxes to carry the food.
Do I have to buy the food for myself?
No. There are three ways to buy food.
- You may purchase food for you and/or your family.
- You may purchase food for your friends, neighbors and co-workers.
- You may purchase food to donate to a needy family you know.
- You may purchase food to donate back to CBC and we will give it to a needy family.
