Prayer and Care Ministry

Community Bible Church believes in the power of prayer. We seek to provide a vibrant environment that encourages CBC members and attendees to depend on Jesus Christ through powerful and effective prayer.

If you would like to join our prayer team and pray for others, there are two ways:

• Email Intercessory Prayer Ministry - Pray for CBC staff and congregational needs through a weekly prayer request list sent by email.
• Intercessory Prayer during all worship services - Pray for Pastor Robert and the CBC worship services as well as staff and congregational needs during all worship services.

If you'd like to minister to someone and enjoy knitting or crocheting for others, this may be the group for you.

While each participant is stitching a prayer shawl, she will petition God with every stitch she makes on behalf of the person who will receive the shawl. If she knows the recipient, she can pray specifically for the needs and concerns of that recipient. Sometimes, she will not know who will receive the shawl. Then she will simply petition God on behalf of the unknown recipient to provide comfort, fill a need, or bless the person. When the prayer shawl is presented to a person, prayers are offered again for God's blessing on the recipient and praying more specifically for their needs.

• When: First and third Wednesday of every month

Community Bible Church offers compassion and support to bereaved families by:

• Assisting in the planning of a funeral or memorial service at CBC.
• Providing a CBC minister to officiate at a funeral or memorial service either here or at another location.
• Providing comfort and support to family members through our GriefShare program.

Who should I call when I have a death in my family and would like to have a funeral or memorial service at Community Bible Church?

Call the Pastoral Care Department at (210) 477-5186. If you are calling after CBC business hours, call (210) 496-5096 and follow the prompts for the CBC pastor on call.

Comfort and Care For Those Left Behind

This Christ-centered group, led by people who have experienced grief, supports those dealing with the loss of a loved one or anyone who wants to comfort and encourage a friend or family member who is experiencing grief.
