Breaking the Cycle of Hurtful Family Relationships - Part 1 of the Freedom Series | Top

All Support Groups are for adults 18 and older unless otherwise stated.

We learn about much of life from our first and primary role models-our parents, who are imperfect persons. They model beliefs and behaviors they learned from their own imperfect parents. And on and on the cycle goes. Sometimes those ideas about life, ourselves, others, and God are faulty, and we and our relationships suffer. What's more, we continue this faulty and sometimes damaging cycle for future generations. Breaking the Cycle of Hurtful Family Relationships by Robert S. McGee & Dale W. McClesky, with Pat Springle and Susan Joiner, helps you identify these harmful patterns in order to experience healthy relationships with others. It will help you learn how God, by speaking to us through His Word, can help us reshape false perceptions of Him and His Word so we can experience His love, forgiveness, and power in all of life's circumstances. There are times it becomes evident that in addition to your support group, individual counseling would also be beneficial. If the need arises the group leader can help direct you to resources available to aid you in your healing journey.

Don't let anger take control. Whether your anger is from tension at work, frustration at home, or just life in general, this workbook will help you modify the anger that keeps you from inner peace and contentment. Most people stereotype anger by assuming that it always results in shouting, slamming fists, or throwing things. However, anger is not that one-dimensional. We all deal with anger in our lives - whether it be in a subtle or violent manner. Being angry can involve such emotional expressions as frustration, irritability, annoyance, aggravation, blowing off steam, or fretting. The good news is anger can be managed.

We all have core beliefs. These core beliefs, both negative and positive, program us and actually become part of the fabric of who we perceive ourselves to be. They determine how we view ourselves, others, and even God. Ultimately they affect our behavior. In other words, core beliefs are the unconscious programming from which we operate as if they were true. We invite you to embark on a journey to freedom by working with others in a support group under the guidance of a trained leader to break free from the faulty and damaging cycles in life.

When you experience emotional injury, fear, shame, or pride, your first impulse is to hide the hurting parts of yourself from God, others, and even yourself. Safe People | Top

Safe People, How to Find Relationships That Are Good for You and Avoid Those that Aren't.

Safe People is part four of four classes from the Foundation's Series using books written by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend that contain powerful biblical principles. Used in succession (Changes That Heal, Hiding From Love, Boundaries, Safe People), these classes help participants uncover the issues that often keep them from a rich, full spiritual and personal life.

Countless individuals have invested themselves into people who've shipwrecked their lives. They've been abandoned or taken advantage of and left with little to show for what they've given. Safe People offers solid guidance for making safe choices in relationships, from friendships to romance. Learn to identify the nurturing people we all need in our lives, as well as ones we need to learn to avoid.

Here's what a recent class participant said about the Safe People class:

"I will use the lessons I take away from this class to make better decisions in the people I invite in to my life and especially those I allow to share my heart and soul. This is the second class I have taken in the series. I am so appreciative for the investment CBC is making in it's members and the community by offering these life skills which ultimately extends to and touches the lives of many, many more. Thank you so very much!" - Beth

Break Free From the Pull of the Past

Discover the transforming power of forgiveness using the book, Search For Peace, but Robert McGee. Some people just never get over being hurt by others! It destroys them physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. Most Christians carry un-forgiveness as they are confused as to the true nature of forgiveness. They hang on to excuses which trap them in the torment of which Jesus warned. Forgiveness of others is the key to experiencing our own forgiveness.

Seeing Your TRUE WORTH through God's Eyes

Robert McGee's best-selling book, The Search for Significance, has helped millions of readers learn how to be free to enjoy Christ's love while no longer basing their self-worth on their accomplishments or the opinions of others. • Gain new skills for getting off the performance treadmill
  • Discover how four false beliefs have negatively impacted your life
  • Learn how to overcome obstacles that prevent you from experiencing the truth that your self-worth is found only in the love, acceptance, and forgiveness of Christ

A Post-Abortion Group for Women

43% of women have experienced an abortion and carry an incredible burden while wearing a smile on their face.

Many struggle for years with repressed memories, guilt, shame, and depression. Most women feel they are not allowed to talk about their abortion experience because it was their "choice."
