Missions

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
Galatians 5:13

Freedom. We get that concept here in America. We are grateful to live in “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” The greatest freedom we enjoy, though, is not related to our country of citizenship. The greatest freedom of all is ours because of Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection. We are liberated from being ruled by our sinful nature and free to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives: to know Christ and to make Him known! We know Christ through Bible study and prayer and worship. Missions is how we make Him known. Missions is serving “one another in love.”

God has uniquely gifted and equipped each of us for the purpose of serving others — of being the hands and feet of Jesus by serving as He did. At CBC, we foster this calling by mobilizing individuals, families and groups to make a difference in our community, our state, our country, and the world. There are so many ways you can use your talents and resources to demonstrate the love of Christ! Let’s use our freedom to serve together and make Him known!

Go Forth Missions Expo
October 20-21
In the CBC’s main lobby during all services

Did you know CBC partners with nearly 100 local and global ministry partners in an effort to mobilize our members to use their passions, gifts and resources to brightly shine the light of Jesus?! Well, get ready for a CBC Lobby TAKE OVER and all things CBC Missions!! At the Go Forth Missions Expo, local ministry and mission trip partners will be represented so that you can easily and effectively learn about what local, national and international mission opportunities we offer through CBC and our partner organizations.  There is no better place to discover where you can GO FORTH and serve in our city and around the world!

While you are there, make sure to visit the Compassion Experience trailer in the North C Parking Lot in front of CBC’s Education Building. The Compassion Experience is a project of Compassion International, a ministry making a difference in the lives of children group up in some of the most impoverished places on earth. This immersive exhibit will allow you to experience another culture, the realities of global poverty and how you can change the life of a child living half a world away.

Can’t make it that weekend? Click “Serve Your City” below to see our local partners or on “Serve World Wide” to learn more about our current mission trips. For questions, feel free to email us at missions@cbc.email.

Donate to Missions

Thank you for your desire to financially support our sharing the love of Jesus! Your donations will allow the good news of salvation through Christ to be taken to the other side of the world and just around the corner. It is your choice. We have specific mission trips that you can help fund, if you like, or you can contribute to our general missions ministry. Either way, we promise you that we will use your donations to serve the world in Jesus’ name!

Disaster Relief

When we hear about a natural or un-natural disaster and the people suffering because of it, we are moved to compassion. We want to help in some way, but are not always sure what we can do. CBC opens doors of opportunity to lend the immediate support needed by those affected by disaster. Check this page to discover needs across the nation for both volunteers and donations of supplies. Financial support often offers the greatest impact, and we facilitate that here, as well.

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to the world!
