OneWknd is a two-day weekend experience for middle and high school students designed to intentionally create an environment where students can EXALT Christ through Christ-centered worship, ENGAGE through biblical teaching, and be EQUIPPED with the necessary tools needed to be salt and light for their generation. OneWknd will take place on campus at Community Bible Church on Friday and Saturday, March 3-4.
AWAKEN is the remarkable true story of friendship, grave clothes, and a normal Tuesday.
The OneWknd theme for this year is AWAKEN. This year, we are discovering what it means to step into the new life that Jesus called us to. Like Lazarus, before we can step into new life, we must first step out of the old grave clothes that are holding us back. Grave clothes that have us wrapped us in sin, hurt, anger, pride, or unforgiveness. AWAKEN documents the true story of Lazarus…that not only demonstrates a present freedom, but it is the foreshadow of a future eternal freedom! A story of how, what was once dead, can now be AWAKEN.
No, OneWknd is not an overnight event. Students will arrive at CBC on Friday after school and be picked up later that evening. They will return back to CBC on Saturday morning for a full day of sessions, small group time, and activities.
Yes, all meals are provided except for dinner on Saturday evening. Students are responsible for bringing money to cover the cost of that meal.
All groups are assigned by grade and gender to provide your student with a great opportunity to create new friendships and a safe environment for small group discussion.
Saturday afternoon is TBD. More information will be sent to you as we approach the event date!
We recommend bringing a journal, bible and pen to take notes during sessions. Students should bring money if they would like to purchase OneWknd or Lift Tour merch, and for dinner on Saturday night.
