What you stand on determines whether you will stand through. God is more than a metaphor. He is our Fortress, Deliverer, Refuge, Shield, and Stronghold. Every name David used was hard-won experience. Today, we are called to notice, receive, and build our lives on Christ the solid Rock. All other ground is sinking sand. When life brings pressure, instability, and danger, the Rock of our salvation remains unmoved.
